Bellevue Arts Museum launches IDEA- Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility learning experience for its board, staff and docents. 

Bellevue, WA— BAM is thrilled to share a significant development that underscores BAM's unwavering commitment to fostering a culture of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA). The initiation of BAM's IDEA program marks a pivotal step toward achieving a substantive, fundamental, and lasting culture shift within the organization. Recognizing that such a transformation demands intentional and incremental efforts, the initial phase of this program will focus on establishing a robust foundation for the implementation of IDEA initiatives across all facets of BAM's operations.

BAM announced the strategic partnership with Paradigm, a renowned leader in inclusion, diversity, equity, and accessibility consulting. Paradigm's expertise and experience in driving organizational change and lasting cultural shifts will play a pivotal role in guiding BAM through the intricacies of this initiative. This collaboration ensures that our approach is informed, aligned with our values, effective, and sustainable.

In December 2023, BAM rolled out a comprehensive and inclusive training program within staff, board members, and docents. “Support from community is instrumental to the success of this initiative. Promoting inclusion, embracing diversity, fostering equity, and supporting accessibility will not only enhance our workplace but also strengthen our collective impact on the broader community we serve” says, Mitch Smith, Board member and IDEA Committee lead chair.
