| CAN I APPLY TO THE ARTSFAIR WITH SLIDES AND A PAPER APPLICATION? |
| |
Yes. All artists must apply using Zapplication. If you cannot apply using Zapplication, Bellevue Arts Museum will process your slides , setup a user profile and submit your images on Zapplication. An additional fee of $75 is required. Contact Meredith Langridge for additional information. |
|
| |
| WHAT IF I DO NOT HAVE AN IMAGE OF MY BOOTH TO SUBMIT? |
| |
If you do not have an image of your booth, then you need to provide an additional image of your artwork. The jury will not give you a lower score based on the fact that you did not provide an image of your booth. The booth image is important because it gives the jury a sense of how your work displays, the quality of your setup, and the size of your work.
|
|
| |
| CAN I APPLY IN MULTIPLE CATEGORIES? |
| |
Artists can apply in no more than two categories. Work should be substantially different in medium and technique. Artists must submit two separate sets of images and pay the application fee ($40) twice to apply. Artists accepted in two categories only pay one booth fee. Each applicant may apply only once for a given category. |
|
| |
| HOW WILL MY APPLICATION BE SCREENED? |
|
A panel of nationally recognized jurors will review and score each entry using a 1-10 scoring system (excluding 5). Scores are tallied and a cutoff score is determined for each category. Artists will be juried within their selected categories. Images will be viewed on monitors. |
|
| |
| CAN I COLLABORATE WITH ANOTHER ARTIST? |
| |
Two artists collaborating on single works in one category is considered one entry. Complete one application, pay one application fee and upload one set of five (5) images. If accepted, one booth space will be provided. |
|
| |
| WHAT ARE THE FEES IF I AM ACCEPTED? |
| |
Bellevue Arts Museum ArtsFair no longer charges artists commission. Booth fees range from $725-$1000 and are due on April 15, 2008. |
|
| |
| WHAT SERVICES DO YOU OFFER ARTISTS? |
|
Artists are provided with a link to their website on the Bellevue Arts Museum website, special rates at hotels, publicity cards, storage areas for an additional fee, and booth sitters. Artists can also relax in the artist lounge where beverages and snacks are available. Twenty-four hour security is provided on-site. Parking is offsite (1 mile) with continuous shuttle service provided. |
|
| |
| DO I PROVIDE MY OWN BOOTH? |
|
Spaces are available in 15’x10’, 10’x10’, 10’x8’ and 8’x8’. Spaces are reserved on a first-come-first-served basis after notification. Artists provide their own booth structures. The display surface is concrete. Sixty (60) booth spaces are outside the parking structure on West Drive; 265 booths are under the parking structure, with a height limit of 6’10" in most areas. Electricity is available to ALL booths (max. 400 watts). |
|
| |
| CAN I SHARE MY BOOTH? |
| |
Artists cannot share a booth unless they are accepted with their collaborator. |
|
| |
| DO YOU HAVE AN AWARDS PROGRAM? |
| |
The Carol Duke Awards of Excellence are presented at the Patron Party on July 23, 2008. Ten awards are given at $1,000 each. |
|
| |
| DO YOU HAVE A WAITLIST? |
| |
A waitlist is established based on jury scores. Applicants will be notified after the jury process if they are on the waitlist. Following cancellation, the top-scoring artist on the waitlist in that category will be invited to participate. If more than one waitlisted artist in a category has the same score, or if no artists remain on the waitlist for a given category, ArtsFair organizers will issue an invitation at their own discretion, with the primary objective being balance of the show. |
|
| |
| DO YOU ACCEPT OFFSET REPRODUCTIONS? |
| |
Reproductions of an artist’s original work may be exhibited subject to the following conditions:
- All reproductions, whether framed or unframed, must be clearly and individually labeled “REPRODUCTION” or “LIMITED EDITION REPRODUCTION.”
- Reproductions may be displayed in browse bins and/or hung on one wall of the booth, not to exceed ten (10) linear feet.
