This 9-week class meets every Saturday, 1:30 – 4:00pm, 4/12 – 6/14 (no class 5/17) in the Bellevue Arts Museum classroom.  Ages 16+

Instruction Medium: Oil or acrylic paint

This 9-week course takes students on a journey of discovery including an overview of art history and a study of color painting secrets from the Renaissance through Modern Art. Suitable for painters of every level, course work includes four completed paintings from four periods of art history…and teaches the techniques of traditional color glazing, scumbling, impressionistic visual color effects, fauvist expressionism, and modern art experimentalism in color flow. Become confident with color by learning more than 7 important color techniques which are each a roadway to mastery and find out which might best give you the tools to match your inner voice.

*Please note that students will be required to provide their own acrylic or oil painting supplies. A materials list can be found on the registration page. Please contact [email protected] with any questions you might have about materials.

All participants of GAGE art classes at the Bellevue Arts Museum are invited to display their work at the Artist Showcase Exhibition (date TBD).

About Diane Crago

With a Fine Arts degree from the University of Washington, and extensive studies in Tokyo, Diane Crago has been teaching painting for 45 years. She has led courses at Gage Art Academy, and has offered workshops in oil painting and acrylics for Seattle Amazon employees and for Microsoft at their Redmond campus. Diane’s BAM workshops are designed for beginner through advanced students, teaching artists to paint in classical, Impressionist, and abstract visual modes.
